ren hang

ren hang likes to push boundaries with his photography. the scenery he chooses often oscillates between nature and metropolis.
with his work he expresses strong emotions between anger, fear, desire, shame and curiosity.
through his photos, emotion and sexuality are expressed in a time where it is slowly becoming accepted to discuss and share what it so inherently human in everyone, yet has been buried deep in a culture where saving face and shame are powerful motivators to keep quiet.
let the wild roam free.

side note:
hang's photographs have been banned in china but with a growing list of international collaboration, his work manages to escape the confines of censorship and illuminate hidden corners of chinese society.
